Alright so I may have doomed a race of irradiated freaks to slow dehydration but on the plus side I now have the water chip. The vault is saved and I can go back to whatever it was I did before this nightmare began. Right Boss?
I leave Necropolis and make the long journey back to Vault 13. Along the way I’m attacked by a few wild creatures but nothing serious. I’m won’t miss fleeing for my life I can tell you that much.
Ah home sweet home.
I deliver the water chip to the overseer, man that’s a cool chair he’s got. He asks me to go file my report.
I do so and go up another level, I’m now level 6.
Which means I get another perk. This time I pick Silent Running because it involves my two favourite activities.
I go back to the overseer for a debriefing. He’s concerned about the mutants I mentioned and even thinks they may be a threat. Well someone else’s turn for a suicide mission me thinks.
Oh come the fuck on. He can’t seriously expect me to head back out there. Listen I’m not the unstoppable badarse you think I am. How the hell am I supposed to shut down the source of the mutants and defeat their leader? This shit is beyond me.
Well it appears I have no choice, it’s either do as he says or let the vault be over run by an army of mutants. *Sigh* If I’m going to do this I’m going to need some allies. Back in the Hub I heard about some crazy religious zealots with awesome pre-war armour and weapons. If anyone can deal with these mutants it’s them. I make my way there.
Damn that’s some impressive hardware these guys are sporting. I knew they were the dudes to deal with this mess.
All right I need their help but they’re unlikely to help an outsider so let’s see if they’ll let me join.
Apparently they will let me join but first I’ve got to complete some impossible mission to visit their highly irradiated former base and recover a lost artefact. Why does everyone keep giving me suicide missions? Screw it at this point I’ve got nothing to lose.
On my way there I stop off at the hub and buy some anti-radiation medications, but I don’t think it’ll be enough. I’ll need to find a way to get some money fast.
I go talk to Lorenzo the loan shark and get him to give me a thousand caps, which sounds like a lot. He wants me to pay it back in ten days with ten percent interest per day, this dude should get into the sub prime housing market.
Then I go speak to a friendly drug dealer in Old Town where my new stack of cash is able to purchase a whole two doses of anti-radiation meds. Awesome.
Hopefully this will be enough, because once I reach my destination there’s no turning back.
